Notice of Member Dues Increases – UVICFA Mil Rate and CUFA-BC

Faculty Association Dues (Mil Rate): As per the results of the Mil Rate Proposal* vote this past April where 82.2% of Members who voted approved a Mil Rate (MR) increase, the Association hereby gives notice that the MR will go from 5 to 8 as of July 1, 2018.  The new MR will be reflected in your July 15, 2018 pay.

Fiscal Year (July 1 – June 30)	Mil Rate
2017-2018	5.0 – Current MR = 0.5%  per payroll
2018-2019	8.0 – New MR as of July 1, 2018 = 0.8% per payroll

*The ratified Mil Rate Proposal will see the MR increase from 5 to 8 for three years and then go down to 6 on July 1, 2021. The MR may be adjusted down to 6 sooner if the target Legal Reserve Fund of $800,000 is reached prior to July 1, 2021.

CUFA-BC Dues: This notice is also to advise of a change to the CUFA-BC member dues rate**. Starting July 1, 2018, the new CUFA-BC dues rate will increase by $0.24 to $3.61 per payroll. The new dues rate will be reflected in your July 15, 2018 pay.
