2025 Bargaining Updates

Dear Members,

We would like to inform you that our current collective agreement will be expiring on June 30, 2025, and your Negotiating Team is already preparing for this important round of bargaining.

The Faculty Association is pleased to report that your Executive Committee and Council have appointed and ratified the Negotiating Team for next year’s round of Collective Bargaining:

The 2025 Negotiating Team:

  1. Lynne Marks – Chief Negotiator (History)
  2. Christine O’Bonsawin – Chair (History, Indigenous Studies)
  3. Vera Caine – Member (Nursing)
  4. Moustapha Fall – Member (Languages, Linguistics, and Culture)
  5. Michelle Miranda – Member (Mathematics & Statistics)
  6. Jane Morrison – Librarian Member (Libraries)
  7. Bruce Ravelli – Teaching Stream Faculty (Sociology)

Our new Membership Engagement committee will begin its work soon in support of the work of our Negotiating Team, with the aim of introducing ways for our Members to learn more about and engage more with the bargaining process, to help to connect our members to each other, and to demonstrate their support for the Negotiating Team. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact General Manager, Nathan Todd at [email protected].

If you have any questions about the collective bargaining, please contact our Chief Negotiator, Lynne Marks at [email protected].

Unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən & W̱SÁNEĆ Territories

We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples on whose traditional territory the university stands and the Songhees, Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.

We acknowledge the devastation that government-created residential schools and Indian hospitals have inflicted on the health and well-being of Indigenous peoples and the ongoing effectics of concentric trauma that continue to this day.
