COVID-19 Update – March 5th

Dear Members,

With Tax season upon us, the Association would like to update you on two options for claiming home office expenses that the CRA has made available. In addition to the standard method requiring that you complete a T2200S form signed by your department, there is now a temporary flat-rate method that does not have this requirement.

Members are encouraged to consider both options to determine which is best for you. The University has provided information on both of these options here.

Further details from the CRA and the T2200S form itself can be found here.

If you decide to pursue the standard method, you should inquire with your department chair/director about obtaining a signature on the T2200S form.

Thank you, and all the best,

Nathan Todd

Executive Assistant, UVICFA

Unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən & W̱SÁNEĆ Territories

We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples on whose traditional territory the university stands and the Songhees, Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.

We acknowledge the devastation that government-created residential schools and Indian hospitals have inflicted on the health and well-being of Indigenous peoples and the ongoing effectics of concentric trauma that continue to this day.
