Guidelines for Developing New Unit Standards

To assist the Membership in the development of their Unit Standards as per the 2019-2022 Collective Agreement, the UVICFA has published the below linked guidelines:

1.  Guidelines on Unit Standards. This document has been ​developed jointly by the UVICFA and the office of Faculty Relations and Academic Administration.  
2. Template for Unit Standard. This template has been jointly ​created by AVP Faculty Relations Michele Parkin and Association President Lynne Marks.
3. FA Suggested Guidelines to Support the Success of Indigenous Faculty Members. This document  was written in consultation with members of the UVICFA’s Ad Hoc Indigenous Faculty Committee.
4. Suggested Guidelines for Transparency in Unit’s Hiring, Evaluation and Operation Processes.  This document was developed by the UVICFA’s Equity Committee. 

These guidelines should help enable departments to develop Unit Standards that recognize the particular issues facing Indigenous colleagues, as well as address general questions of equity and transparency.
