2019-2022 Collective Agreement Ratified!

A tentative collective agreement reached on June 28, 2019 between the University of Victoria and the Faculty Association under the BC government’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate has been successfully ratified. The agreement will be in effect July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022 and covers approximately 900 full-time faculty members and librarians. 

The agreement recognizes the importance of faculty and librarian work in the university’s mandate of teaching and research excellence and embeds important principles of employment equity and fairness.

Along with adjustments to salary structure and enhanced leave and benefit entitlements, across-the-board increases of 1.75 per cent, 1.75 per cent, and two per cent over the contract term were permitted within the mandate. 

Over the next six months the agreement will be edited, published and implemented.  Some changes will be phased in through agreed transition provisions.
